Charles Dickens wrote that the Parable of the Prodigal Son was “the greatest short story ever written”.  The parable has been depicted in music, art and sayings in the English language. The parable can be divided into three scenes –

Scene One – The rebellious, ungrateful younger son.

Scene Two – The kindly, soft-hearted father.

Scene Three – The arrogant pharisaical brother.

The question is, where do we fit into these three scenes?
